Cross Country District Results

Eduardo Lopez placed 2nd overall varsity boys

Our JV boys team placed 3rd as a team and Brayan Martinez placed 8th. 

The 2017 Cross Country District 7-4A Championship Meet was held on October 12th at the Harold
Patterson Sports Complex in Arlington, Texas. The Diamond Hill-Jarvis XC team really stood out with
their hard work and dedication, especially the Varsity and JV boys. For the Varsity 5k men’s race, River
Oaks Castleberry made it 1 st with a total of 38 points, while Mineral Wells and Springtown made the
runners up with scores of 62 and 83. Diamond Hill-Jarvis was so close to making top 3 as a team, but two
of our runners made it to regionals. Freshmen, Eduardo Lopez, made it in 2 nd place with an impressive
time of 16:43.10 and sophomore, Fernando Gonzalez, made it right behind him in 3 rd with an excellent
time of 17:00.03. As for the JV 5k men’s race, the boys did amazing and placed in 3 rd with a total of 74
points. Sophomore, Brayan Martinez, finished off with a new personal record of 19:57.08. Meanwhile
the varsity and JV girls also did great and put in lots of hard work and effort. The varsity 2 mile women’s
race had River Oaks Castleberry as 1 st with a score of 17 while Springtown, Mineral Wells and Benbrook
had well-earned scores of 66, 85, and 102. Diamond Hill-Jarvis did a respectable score of 153 as
sophomore, Mayra Sanchez, was in 11 th place with a striking time of 13:17.91. The JV 2 mile women’s
race had Springtown in 1 st with a score of 23 while Benbrook, River Oaks Castleberry and Lake Worth
made great scores of 59, 79, and 103. Our JV girls placed in 5 th with a total of 118 points. Congratulations
to our regional-bound runners! Best of luck to them and for next year to be another hard work-filled
season
